The Sales Graduate will develop a comprehensive understanding of Stormking GRP's products, customers, markets, and commercial processes through hands-on involvement across all aspects of the sales function. The role is designed to provide a structured development pathway into a future sales, account management, or business development position.
The successful candidate will support new business generation, customer relationship management, quotation management, account development, and customer service activities, helping to drive sales growth while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role offers exposure to customers across the construction, housebuilding, merchant, and manufacturing sectors.
Key Accountabilities:
• Support the sales team in identifying and developing new business opportunities across existing and target markets.
• Generate and qualify sales leads through proactive outbound calling, email campaigns, networking, and market research.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, merchants, contractors, developers, and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare and issue quotations accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Proactively chase quotations to maximise conversion rates and secure new orders.
• Monitor sales opportunities through the CRM system and maintain accurate customer records.
• Manage customer enquiries via telephone, email, and digital channels, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Support account management activities by maintaining regular contact with existing customers and identifying opportunities for growth.
• Work closely with internal departments including Operations, Technical, Production, Planning, and Customer Services to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Assist in the preparation of sales reports, pipeline updates, forecasts, and business development plans.
• Attend customer meetings, site visits, trade exhibitions, and networking events when required.
• Develop detailed knowledge of Stormking GRP products, manufacturing processes, and market sectors.
• Support pricing, margin management, and commercial decision-making processes.
• Contribute to achieving departmental sales targets, revenue growth, and customer retention objectives.
•Identify market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements and communicate findings to the wider commercial team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and quality standards.
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
• Graduate calibre, ideally educated to degree level in Business, Commercial Management, Marketing, Sales, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in sales, customer engagement, business development, and commercial operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence in speaking with customers and building professional relationships.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work proactively and take ownership of tasks.
• Commercial awareness and willingness to learn about the construction and manufacturing sectors.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when preparing quotations and sales documentation.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Previous experience in a customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, or commercial environment.
• Knowledge or interest in the construction, manufacturing, or building products sector.
• Experience using CRM systems.
• Understanding of account management and business development principles.
• Full UK driving licence.
